This Air Traffic Controller Is Too Stunning For The Control Tower

The Voice That Launched A Thousand Flight Plans

It began with a 47-second audio clip posted to a small aviation enthusiast subreddit titled ‘r/ATC_Moments’ — a community that, before last Tuesday, had exactly 1,200 members, all of whom owned sensible khaki shorts. By Thursday morning the post had 2.3 million upvotes and r/ATC_Moments had gained 890,000 new subscribers, the vast majority of whom cannot locate the transponder on a Cessna 172 and have no intention of learning. The clip itself features her calmly guiding a nervous student pilot through a crosswind landing, her voice so impossibly soothing and cool that aviation Twitter declared it ‘the ASMR the Wright Brothers died for.’

Federal regulators, who have handled everything from drone invasions to a man attempting to land a paraglider on the Capitol lawn, were reportedly blindsided by the avalanche of student pilot certificate applications flooding their online portal. ‘Our system was designed to process roughly 400,000 applications per year,’ one FAA spokesperson told reporters, visibly sweating. ‘We received 180,000 in the last 72 hours.’ Analysts note that the new applicants skew heavily male, aged 18 to 45, and a suspiciously high percentage listed their reason for pursuing aviation as ‘just always loved planes, man, totally always loved them, since I was a kid.’
