A drink turns into a prop

A glass gives her cover. She can sip, pause, look over the rim, and let the silence carry the part she is not saying out loud.

That is why dinner tables and bar corners create so many loaded little moments. The prop makes her hands busy while her eyes do the cleaner work. After that, the talk often stops sounding public.
